:: Final Continued ::

My book is slowly coming along. The finessing will take place later, but for now this should give you a sense of how the book goes along. I am still planning to add soundeffects, along with making the rest of the tabs and hidden characters to be animated. The tabs will each have a glow to indicate that the user can pull them. The type still needs to be tweeked so that the changing of  the pages. The scroll bar can change, but for now this a starting point. The 'stickiness' of the tabs will be fixed so that your mouse doesn't get stuck to it. The easing will be corrected as well. For the most part, the background and book will stay the way they are. I might add some lighting to add to the book, but this works for now.

it's pretty awesome man! i would try making the text smaller, it seems to really crowd the space inside the tabs. and i'm not sure the aesthetics of the scroll bar fit the rest of your piece.

I concur with anthoney.

Also, i think the book and background dont match... unless thats what youre going for. I think a nice illustrated book and background would pull it together nicely as far as the whole look.

Looks good so far

No don't do an illustrated background for the actual book. If anything keep the background as "real world" as you can. You gotta have that contrast. Or just keep it minimal so you don't distract from the book's interior stage.
Everything else looks solid.
When you see lil hood looking in her basket you should be able to click on the taboo mag, and it flips open to reveal some....well.....taboo!

I'm loving the illustrations for this and how the pages of the book pop up. I think when you go to post it to the web that the FPS needs to be 30 so it can run smoothly. I was just having some problems with that a minute ago. I like the scrolling you can do to read the text and I know if you add some sound it'll boost it even more. I agree with anthony about keeping the text small.

It is working so far and everything looks solid. I notice that you have the characters speak as if they are acting in a play. It reinforces the idea of the book coming to life. Once you put your text in there, as some have said, consider resizing it to fit the space better.

We need to fix some of the interactivity problems, such as the sticky tabs, and the way the text shrinks on the second page, and the weird looking small textbox on page 3, but these are all relatively minor.
